Coming from a documentary photography practice, Antoine Grenez has recently turned to new research where reality and fiction are intertwined.
In his exhibition Embuscade, he addresses the aesthetics of war, its codes and its derivatives in the form of a game. The notion of camouflage is shown in a way that reveals what is hidden, the maneuvers and strategies, all leading to a single and unique goal: survival.
In his approach, Antoine Grenez also observes this duality in natural environments. These still plants, vulnerable and sometimes scarred by time, can also surprise with their clever ability to deceive.
Antoine Grenez, born in 1994, lives and works in Brussels.
