Isola is a podcast that takes us into an invisible world that connects us. Have you ever felt like an isolated fragment? What if our ruminations have a common root?
This podcast brings to light links that are often forgotten, true stories that speak of you, them, us, humanity, magic, identity. It’s happening down the street, around the corner, in the center of Brussels, and sometimes even on the other side of the world. Isola is about revealing the hidden side of the moon, unseen yet always present.
The first episode of Isola is called “confinés dehors” and gives the stage to inhabitants of the street encountered during “confined” roamings around Brussels. Staying at home, sure, but what if you don’t have a home? Far from the politicians, disconnected from our daily lives, their testimonies are very real.
After editing the episode, I (Laura) set off again to the streets, at random, to find the same homeless people, make them listen to their speeches from during the confinement, and take the opportunity to put a face to their voices.
It is a hybrid format between podcast (sound) and image.

What’s next ?
Next episode is a project about gender and transidentity among young people. 11 young Belgians, between 9 and 24 years old, are asserting their identity. They embody the need for a renewed, inclusive world: one we all need. A world where gender is no longer assigned but well developed according to individual codes specific to each. They take control of the storytelling about their identity.
The project is made in collaboration with the photographer Lydie Nesvadba and the association Transkids. It will be out on May 8, 2021 through an exhibition in the Room at 254Forest
