Captive

Through an installation inviting us to enter sleeping pods similar to those found in capsule hotels, Captive, a project by Romain Tardy, offers an intimate encounter with the digital world.

Romain Tardy's Captive project explores the impact of digital technology on our relationship with rest, solitude, and disconnection through an artistic lens. It consists of three parts : a textual work combining interviews and poetic writing on our evolving connection to sleep in the age of constant connectivity, an audiovisual creation using 3D avatars to embody the tension between intimacy and digital presence, and an immersive installation with sleeping pods that present content focused on pre-sleep routines and insomnia. This project questions the blurred boundaries between productivity and personal intimacy in a hyperconnected world.
